Maggots got ya down?

Here we are with all of October before us, the time of year we wait for, the thirty one days we can let our hair down, and be ourselves.

This is our first year as readers with Godless Horror, and all the best of what we love is at our fingertips for so inexpensive that it almost don’t feel right! The authors are extremely giddy, putting out new content just for us, and I know my immediate TBR has never been so exciting!!

There’s just one problem, or problem area. Yeah, you read the title. I know that I feel like even though it’s going to give me the full on heebie-jeebies, It’s time to finally read Mother Maggot by Simon McHardy, Maggot Girl by Otis Bateman, Hell, even Lindsay Crook serves some up in Love Stumped! If my ‘badge of honor’ is what gets me started, fine, because I know that once I’m into them I’ll be laughing, and crying, and gagging, and laughing more because of the gags!!

Are you like me, and think you’ll be ok? Or maybe you’re worse, but you’re friends with the author(s) and think it would look bad if you didn’t R&R their books? It doesn’t matter what is holding us back, because I think I ran into an accidental cure.

But we can’t do it alone. We are going to call on our friend Sea Caummisar for some quick CBT! She can help train our brains to not see these vile, disgusting, shit eating hell bugs for what they are! She wrote a story called ‘PUNPKINS FOR CHEAP’. Run grab it from Amazon now. I’ll wait. Because this grotesque horror novelette is going to cure our phobias, and tame our gag reflexes! Have a peek at her South Park style disclaimer – This book should never be read by anyone. It’s gross and immature. It’s almost as if a small child wrote it. If you enjoy poorly written dark humor, you might like this book. I mean, there’s a chapter titled ‘Tampons Are Not Yummy’. So use your imagination as to what kind of story this is.

What if maggots evolved and wanted to take over the world?

A maggot has invaded Jimbo’s brain. The maggot has plans to make baby maggots and sell them inside jack-o-lanterns..

Get yourself settled in a nice comfy spot, cup of coffee or Mtn. Dew. You skipped dinner, right? (Hey, they’re STILL maggots, it just a safeguard for your carpet.)

If you finish this story, I don’t see how you could NOT want a little baby maggot of your very own! Dress it up, feed it 💩, have cute & quirky little names for all of it’s brothers and sisters, and talk baby talk to them all! “Who’s gonna take over the world one day… You are aren’t you!”

I know that I am feeling pretty empowered since I just reread PUNPKINS, (well – this time I listened to the audiobook version), and I think I’m about ready to see if I can make it through these titles without quitting, or puking. Thank you, Sharon ❣️ We owe you!

On the other hand – I take no responsibility for your brain, and if this has the opposite effect, if you become so phobic that you can’t even eat rice, or you try to claw your face off because you see maggots in the chicken… hey – anything for Halloween, right? 🎃

WARNING – Once you start this book, you won’t be able to stop until the last book is finished.
If you picked up this series before reading anything else from this author, Sanger Entertainment was born in the blood of Games The Complete Series Books 1-6. I was really excited about the idea of Sanger getting its own series, but I didn’t have a clue what it was going to be like. The reality of the final project exceeded my wildest imagination!
It has everything I wanted – the casino, the collection crews, the underground fighting, and videos, etc. But so much more, too! (Note to author: I absolutely LOVE the pharmacy, nice touch!) And since this is Sea Caummisar we’re talking about, it has all the blood, gore, and always inventive deaths that keep us coming back for more.
Beyond all that though…The story that continues throughout these books is outstanding! Together these guys – THOMAS, BRUNO, KURT, and MAX are like brothers, with PAULIE being the honorary, adopted little brother – they’ve grown Sanger into something untouchable. But when the wife and kids kind of family comes in to play, it’s not always so easy to balance. If it comes down to it, which family is more important?
It depends on who you ask.

I’ll go over the stories individually at a later time, but it’s so hard to do! Sea Caummisar packs so much story into so few pages that I’m always feeling like I’m balancing on that very thin line between review, or spoiler.

Have you read this series already? Do you have a favorite? I like Kurt & Thomas the most, cuz Max lost his damn fool mind! But, then again, we can’t forget about Paulie… He may not be one of the four founding members, but he’s been here through thick and thin, and knows more secrets than the president should be privy to. It’s really hard to pick a favorite, innt? Gotta boogie for now, but say hey in the comments, let me know you’re still lurking!

Here’s a little refresher as to what happened in the Games 4: Maze…
Sara and Donny created a pain maze and forced people to go room to room, which eventually led to painful deaths. Sara was dealing with being pregnant, and after an injury she was put on bedrest for the sake of the unborn child. Donny decided to train the survivor of the maze as his own partner.
The survivor of the pain maze is doing everything in his power to become Donny’s best friend.
This book picks up where that book left off.

I think that this is my favorite book in this series. Let’s see, how much can I say without spoiling anything…
Book 5 feels like it has come full circle, everything has been touched upon, thought out, and dealt with, so knowing that Book 6 is coming feels like an added bonus.
I also love how the author’s different worlds are weaving together at the edges – connections are made that make us feel special for knowing these little details of ‘insider information’.
I appreciate Sara a little more than I did before. I know I have see-sawed with my opinion of her since meeting her, but I’m happy with where I’ve landed with regards to her character.
I absolutely adore Rick, and was pleasantly surprised by his arrival. He’s quirky and seems honestly friendly. I’m happy to see that he’s eating better.
I think that the idea of a seventh book isn’t out of the question. Games 7 – The Prequel: Andy’s Story could hold some very mind blowing groundwork.

I could smell this story while reading it.

Very vivid details in this book, I almost puked – good job 👍
I’ve been staying away from the extreme gross-out stuff, so this was a fun escape from Coronageddon.
I love the cat running around in this story!
