THE GREATEST ZOMBIE MOVIE EVER by Jeff Strand

No gerbils were harmed during the writing of this book.

The Greatest Zombie Movie Ever is so bad, it could wake the dead…

What happens when three buddies decide to make an epic zombie movie with no money, no script, and a one month shooting deadline? Possibly THE WORST ZOMBIE MOVIE EVER!

Imagine the Farrelly brothers while they were growing up, and making YouTube movies. That’s how I picture Justin and his friends – brainstorming, conflicting ideas, bickering, casting, cheese fries, and the kind of teasing you can only do with your best friends.

Struggling with location issues, actor demands, and sleep deprivation, everyone’s tempers shorten, and things escalate quickly.  If the movie ever does get made, it might be at the cost of their friendship!

As usual, Jeff Strand had me audibly laughing from the beginning! No, not the beginning of the story… the beginning of the book. The preface. The ‘before you read this book WARNING’.  Parts of the story reminded me of IF CHINS COULD KILL: CONFESSIONS OF A B MOVIE ACTOR by Bruce Campbell. A fond remembering of the grueling schedule, agonizing FX, and Murphy’s Laws of film making – but when you’re passionate, and with your friends… it’s worth every minute!

THE GREATEST ZOMBIE MOVIE EVER will be released by Sourcebooks Fire on March 1’st, 2016. I read an advanced copy through NetGalley. Like I’ve said to you many times before – don’t let the Teens & YA classification scare you off!

Speaking of Lucky McKee…

I had a (online) conversation with Lucky McKee once, and was SHOCKED to realize that this cool & down to earth guy I was chatting with directed one of my all-time favorite movies – MAY – awesomeness!

Making friends can be hard.
A psychological horror about a lonely young woman traumatized by a difficult childhood, and her increasingly desperate attempts to connect with the people around her.

IMDB – MAY (2002) – If you can’t find a friend… make one!
As a child, May was a lonely girl with a lazy eye. Her only friend was a weird and ugly doll kept in a glass case given by her bizarre mother on her birthday. May becomes a lonely, weird young woman, working in an animal hospital and assisting the veterinarian in surgeries and sewing operated animals most of the time. Her lesbian colleague Polly has a sort of attraction for her. When the shy May meets the mechanic Adam Stubbs, she loves his hands and has a crush on him. They date, but the weirdness and bizarre behavior of May pushes Adam away from her. Alone, May has a brief affair with Polly, but she feels rejected again when her colleague meets Ambrosia. When her doll is accidentally broken, the deranged May decides to build a friend for her, using the best parts her acquaintances can offer.

I was on my new BLOGGER account, (http://shadowgrrl.blogspot.com/) even though I haven’t posted anything there yet. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with that one, but… it will be cool & awesome, so be sure to check it out some time!!
I stumbled upon a great bit on FreddyInSpace‘s blog, (http://www.freddyinspace.com/) that is what I’m sharing here, except -you know- with MY answers! If you haven’t been to FreddyInSpace, that is someone you should follow! FreddyInSpace is the brilliant mind behind some of your favorite internet memes – but never gets credited! All the Ben & Jerry Horror flavors were created by F.I.S. I’ve shared a few of them here – that’s how I learned about http://www.freddyinspace.com/ – through a comment left on one of my shares! I’m 99% sure that the Horror Happy Meals originated there, too.
Here is the Horror Lover Challenge.
