Matt Shaw’s 200th Kindle Release!

Published July 22, 2017 by Shadow Girl

A new horror to sink your teeth into...

The

TASTE

of the food he’d cooked her was divine. When she told him, over their many online messages, what her favourite three course meal was – she never expected him to cook it for her and yet, that was exactly what he had done. Sitting opposite her, he watched her enjoy every mouthful despite not wanting any food for himself. A man content with the glass of red before him: A liquid dinner. Normally she would feel uncomfortable with a relative stranger watching her eat, but the food was so good that she didn’t care. Anyway, she knew this was her treat… Just as what he had coming for himself – as soon as she was done eating – would be his treat, not that he hurried her to finish. He was happy to wait. He knew

all good things come to those who wait

Have you read PLENTY OF FREAKS? OMG, Poor Matt could have ended up in so many of his stories!

To meTASTE feels like a re-imagining of the 2001 ‘Love Cannibalism’ case involving Armin Meiwes & Bernd Brandes.   Details on THAT are below… heh heh heh…

Like the rest of the White Cover collection, this short story is intended for those who want a quick read before bed, or members of Kindle Unlimited. If you’re looking for something longer, please try any of the Black Cover Range.

Warning: Strong sexual content.

See below for details on Armin Meiwes & Bernd Brandes –

THE ABUSE OF ASHLEY COLLINS by Jon Athan

Published March 22, 2017 by Shadow Girl

I don’t  know why I ever chose to torture myself and willingly read A CHILD CALLED IT,  but Dave Pelzer broke something inside me – I haven’t been right since.  Knowing that, you’d think I’d have learned a lesson, (yeah, I know… I’m audibly laughing right now, too).  Nope. Years after ‘ACCI’ I decided that I wanted to read THE GIRL NEXT DOOR, and I let Jack Ketchum walk right in and start poking at the wound that David Pelzer left with a big, pointy stick.  I think it was the masochist in me who invited Mendal W. Johnson to drop by and sucker-punch my PTSD in the back of the head.  As far as the ‘Let’s Go Play At The Adams fiction/non-fiction debate’ goes – I’m sticking with IT’S FICTION, but I’m sure all the atrocities have been committed, many times, and on many different Barbaras.
Like LGPATATHE ABUSE OF ASHLEY COLLINS is not a true story – but it very well could be. Watching the decreasing sanity, and the elevating brutality of Ashley’s parents demonstrates just how fast situations can escalate. One little poke at the wrong moment, and all control is lost – you can’t come back from certain things.

THIS IS A WORK OF FICTION. It is disturbing, and hard to read at times, but the author is not exploiting issues to gain shock value for a horror story. Jon Athan comes at the story from every possible angle, from every p.o.v., and sheds light on problems that most families would keep hidden in the dark. Let me misquote one of my favorite movies before you start reading…

WARNING: This book contains scenes of graphic violence, including violence towards children. This book is about abuse—verbal, physical, and emotional. This book does not feature any explicit sex scenes, but it does discuss sexual abuse. This book is not intended for those easily offended or appalled.

Ashley Collins, a sixteen-year-old girl, has severe behavior issues. She regularly fights with her parents, Logan and Jane. When the fights become personal and physical, Logan and Jane decide to take matters into their own hands. They chain their daughter in the basement and abuse her in an attempt to rescue her from her bad behavior… while delving into their own deviance and depravity.

This is a story of family and abuse. This is a story of violence and discipline. This is the abuse of Ashley Collins.

Jon Athan, author of A Family of Violence, brings you an uncompromising vision of human horror. Can the cycle of abuse be broken?

Find The Abuse of Ashley Collins on Goodreads, Amazon, and it’s available through the KU program.

Mason’s Television

Mason Williams is not a normal 13-year-old teenager. He regularly gets in trouble at school. He doesn’t mind getting beaten by his father. He enjoys extremely violent movies. He talks to his television—and his television talks back. With the advice from his television, Mason begins committing violent crimes against his peers in order to achieve infamy…

WARNING: This book contains scenes of graphic violence, disturbing themes, and some sexual references. Most of these scenes involve violence committed by and against minors. This book is not intended for those easily offended or appalled. Please enjoy at your own discretion.

Birthday Boy by Cory Cline

Published January 6, 2017 by Shadow Girl

I wanted to keep with today’s theme, so since it’s my birthday I decided to read

BIRTHDAY BOY by Cory Cline

“Piñata!”

“Chaz is the type of guy who thinks he will do anything to get laid. His limits are about to be put to the test when he wakes up in “Boy’s” barn.

He is the guest of honor at a special party that “Boy” and his family hold dear to the heart.
Some tradition’s never get old…”

Like Chaz, I, too,¹ have woken up the 6th of January with hazy, Polaroid memories, wondering – “where am I?”, “where are my pants?”, and most importantly… “where is that cat that shit in my mouth?”  I’m happy to say that the answers that slowly come to me after a fun filled night of Jäger Bombs are nowhere near as horrifying as Chaz’s!

If this doesn't scare the Hell out of you...

If this doesn’t scare the Hell out of you…

...THIS will haunt your dreams forever!

…THIS will haunt your dreams forever!

I was about to add another one of Cory Cline’s books to my Amazon TBR list, AS SEEN ON TV , and BAM – “You purchased this item on November 28, 2015.” Nice!  I remember seeing the book, because it’s the same title as my book/ss – (the one that might never see the light of day).  I HAVE to read it now… what if we had the exact same idea?! 😮 hahaha!! No… the synopsis is below, silly.  (I have it loaded up and ready to go, so watch for it!)

Gus Grissom is newly divorced and ready to get into “killer” shape. The high-tech exercise machine he bought from one of those late night commercials promises to help, but Gus will learn what they mean when they say, “buyer beware”

picsart_1481165928793

All Jilly Carson wanted to do was get a little Christmas shopping done with her best friend, Peyton. But when Peyton can’t meet her at the mall, Jilly finds herself feeling anxious and alone as her mother’s cautionary words echo in her head:
“Don’t talk to strangers. Don’t put yourself in that position again. You remember what happened last time….”
When a tall, blonde-haired stranger begins to stalk her, Jilly does everything she can to avoid him.
Feeling scared and vulnerable, she finally decides to leave the mall.
But the blonde-haired man won’t let her flee quite so easily….

Download a little bit of horrific holiday fun from Angel Gelique this season and help prepare yourself for the joys of shopping – the crowds… the Christmas music… people in general… ugh! Shoot me now!

17 year old Jilly Carson just wants to get a little shopping done and be left the fuk alone in the process – too bad the blonde haired stranger can’t take any not-so-subtle hints!

A game of cat & mouse ensues – and there is definitely some blood splatter left on the trap!

BRAZEN by Matt Hickman (DARK CHAPTER PRESS A-Z BOOK 2)

A vast majority of people look down upon the women who work in the ‘Adult Entertainment Industry’. These people usually fall into two separate categories –
First are those with the “Strippers are nothing but whores and drug addicts” mindset, and then there are the “Aww, that poor girl must have been abused growing up – let’s try to save her” crusaders.
Well, I hate to break it to ya, but the girls that do fall into one of those categories are the exception, NOT the rule when it comes to dancers.
Karen has been workin’ the pole for about two and a half years, and she doesn’t find it demeaning in the slightest. In fact,  she feels empowered by it.
Plus, it pays for a pretty posh lifestyle.
The club she works for now takes care of their dancers, and does everything in their power to ensure the safety of the girls who work there. But people can get careless, and they let their guard down. That’s when danger strikes.

This story is NOT what I expected to read! I thought I knew where it was headed, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. (If my following statement sounds familiar it’s only because I read books 1 & 2 in this series today. I was mentally writing what I wanted to say for them both while I was at work, and it covers both stories.)

I’m really lovin’ everything that’s been coming out of Dark Chapter Press – (‘the killer publisher for readers who demand more – more scares, more gore and ultimately, more horror!’). From what I’ve read so far, DCP and it’s authors are not just pushing out the same old horror. The first two books in the A-Z series caught me off guard! I read a lot of horror, and I can usually see what is coming a mile away – but these two both smacked me in the head, laughed, and said “not today, sister!”

Jim has a very special surprise in store for his wife Kristen.
Tomorrow is their anniversary, and he wants to make sure she has an evening that she will never forget.  Something tells me that it’s a night that neither of them will ever forget – no matter how hard they try.

THE FUNERAL: An Extremely Twisted SHORT STORY by Matt Shaw

Published May 3, 2016 by Shadow Girl

“Before a funeral, there needs to be a death.”

The Funeral. cover

⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆

WARNING:

This is A SHORT STORY. It is intended for KU members who have been requesting short, sick, bedtime stories. As part of KU they are able to download this title for free.  If you wish for a longer story to read, do not purchase any of the F*cked-Up Shorts titles.  A good place to start would be The Black Cover Books (for lovers of extreme horror).

* What doesn’t kill you fucks you up mentally. *

The Funeral deals with grief, loss and redemption.
“You can expect twists & turns – be ready to feel a wide range of emotion.”
Never has a truer sentence been written.
Jason is a character that I can relate to.
He’s going through a bad time in his life right now. He is consumed with destructive thoughts, and wrestling with personal demons. Throughout the entire story I found myself laughing at one sentence, close to tears in the next sentence, and nodding my head in agreement at another.
Jason answers a late night phone call that gives him an ‘unexpected distraction’ from his self destructive thoughts, and it’s time for our second ride on that roller coaster!
It is so easy to see parts of myself in Jason, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who will feel this way.

I often find myself wondering if parts of certain stories are based on real events in the author’s life. I did that a lot in this book, especially when Jason thought about moments of happiness that the he shared with his mom. (Matt – go hug your mom!) Not every memory is a great one, there are regrets – just like real life.

The ending was a very unexpected script twist! Trust me… this is one that you wont see coming.

*BONUS POINTS for the ‘failed gas oven suicide attempt’!!
(Depression + OCD = hilarity!)
*EVEN MORE BONUS POINTS for Jason’s reasons to pass on each method on the internet’s ‘top ten’ list.
